Greece e Spoon permanently closed, Uptown Slice to expand in Downtown Sheboygan
City of Sheboygan loses only Greek restaurant

SHEBOYGAN — After a second attempt, Sheboygan’s only Greek restaurant has closed after 13 years in business.
Greece e Spoon, located at 1217 North 8th Street, closed on March 3, 2025. Greg Lee began operating a food truck, Gyros2Go, in 2012 and used that success to open Greece e Spoon in May 2015. The food was reflective of what Lee grew up eating in a Greek-American household.
“I close this chapter without ceremony — just the quiet certainty that it’s time to move forward after 13 years, by choice,” said Lee in March. “I’ve simply decided to take a different path, one that allows me to focus on what matters most — my twin sons, Leonidas and Andreas, who turn 11 in a week, and the future I want to build for them.”
Greece e Spoon first announced they were closing in April 2023 after dealing with COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. As he prioritized other aspects of his business, Lee said he received an “overwhelming amount” of community support to reopen the Downtown Sheboygan restaurant in December 2023 after a remodel.
Lee said he is also shutting down the Gyros2Go food truck.
Uptown Slice to expand
Uptown Slice announced last week they are taking over the restaurant space formerly occupied by Greece e Spoon on North 8th Street to open the Uptown Slice Depot. The pizzeria, located at 1117 Michigan Avenue in the Gateway Neighborhood, has been pushing max capacity for quite some time now according to a post Facebook page. The second location will handle all pick-up and delivery orders. The Michigan Avenue location will remain open for those who want to dine-in.

James Owen and Jerry Feger Jr. opened the New York Style pizzeria in August 2023 in the former Epicure Lounge, which closed in June 2022. The hookah bar wasn’t able to find their footing since the pandemic according to owner Dane Schaefer. “A task that was made especially difficult due to the change in smoking age from 18 to 21 at the beginning of 2020,” said Schaefer. “The long and short of it is, things change and Epicure as we've known it is no longer viable.”
An opening date for the Uptown Slice Depot is yet to be determined.
